Who sells it

MICHAEL’S ISLAND is made by Fliinch, an independent game studio in Toronto, Canada. The payment is handled by Stripe’s Link as the seller of record: Link appears on your checkout, your receipt and your bank statement (as LINK.COM* and our name), and takes care of the sales tax or VAT where you live. Fliinch provides the game.

What you get

A personal licence to play the full game of MICHAEL’S ISLAND in your web browser at fliinch.com/michaelsisland, on any of your own devices, for as long as we offer the game, and the updates we make to it. It does not include other games, or anything we sell separately. The first part of the game is free to play without buying anything, so you can see how it runs on your device first.

What the full game contains is listed on the game’s page at the time you buy.

Price

US$5.00, once. No subscription, no ads, nothing else to buy in the game. Any sales tax or VAT is included in the price. Stripe may show and charge the same price in your own currency.

Delivery

Instant. As soon as your payment goes through, you are sent back to the game with the full game unlocked on that device. Some bank payment methods take longer to confirm: the game unlocks when the payment lands.

On another device, choose Restore in the game and enter the email you paid with and the last 4 digits of the card you paid with (or the unlock code shown after paying).

Pre-orders

Until the full game opens, planned for Friday 13 November 2026, you can pre-order it for the same US$5.00. Your payment is taken when you pre-order. Every pre-order also includes the full game of HOLD YOUR BREATH, planned to open the same day: one payment for both, and everything below (unlocking, refunds, dates) applies to both games together. The day the full game opens, it unlocks by itself in the browser you pre-ordered on, and on any other device with the email you paid with and the last 4 digits of your card, and we email you to say it is open. Until then the free first part stays free to play.

Refunds before it opens: you can cancel a pre-order and get a full refund at any time until the full game opens, for any reason or none: use the Support form on fliinch.com with the email you paid with, or reply to Stripe’s receipt. If the full game has not opened by 30 November 2026, you may cancel for a full refund at any time from then until it opens, and we will tell you of any new date. After it opens, the 14-day rule below runs from the day it opens. A pre-order is one of the first 500 purchases like any other: its FOUNDER number is kept, and retired if it is refunded.

Refunds and changing your mind

If you change your mind, ask within 14 days of buying and we will refund you in full: use the Support form on fliinch.com (the button at the top of every page) with the email you paid with. You don’t have to give a reason. After a refund, the full game locks again on every device, and a FOUNDER number that came with the purchase is retired (it does not pass to anyone else). If the game doesn’t work for you after 14 days, write to us anyway: we will look at every case.

Because Stripe’s Link is the seller of record, you can also ask Link’s support for a refund, and the consumer protection rules where you live (such as a cooling-off period) apply as well. Nothing in these terms takes away a right the law gives you.

Adults only

MICHAEL’S ISLAND is for adults. It contains blood, bodies and disturbing images. By buying it you confirm you are 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live, if that is higher).

FOUNDER rewards

• The first 500 purchases of the full game are FOUNDERS, numbered 1 to 500 in the order the purchases are first unlocked (normally the moment you come back from paying).
• Every FOUNDER gets: their number engraved on the tag on their dog’s collar in the game; their name in the game’s credits, if they give one after buying (2 to 24 characters; we may decline or remove a name that is offensive, impersonates someone, or advertises anything); and the right to buy the FOUNDER merch design in the Fliinch merch store, at its listed price.
• The rewards are guaranteed to every one of the 500. They are not a prize, a contest or a draw, they have no cash value, and they cannot be transferred or sold.
• A refunded or disputed purchase loses its rewards.

Your data

Stripe handles the payment: Fliinch never sees your card number. For each purchase we keep: its Stripe purchase id, the date, the amount, its number, a one-way SHA-256 fingerprint of your email address (never the address itself: it lets us match a restore by email without keeping the email), your name for the credits if you give one, and how many times it was restored. Your device keeps a cookie (mi_owner) that says it owns the game. When you restore by email, the last 4 digits you type are checked against Stripe’s record at that moment and are not stored. Changes

We may update these terms. The terms in force on the day you bought apply to that purchase.

The law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without taking away the protections of the consumer law where you live.
